Pandaul Leather factory Auctioned for RS 5.90 crores

The process of auction of this leather factory was completed in Patna .The highest bid of Rs 5.90 crore was by Md Imteyaz Ahmad of Sakri he now becomes the owner of this iconic leather factory. The auction was held under the surveillance of High Court .

When it was closed in the decade of 90’s , the salary of 60 workers were due so it was expected that the factory may be restarted. But after an order of High Court Patna to close the factory for ever  and pay the dues to the workers by selling the unit sealed its fate in 2011-2012.

The factory produced leather goods , appreciated by many , across the country in the decade of 60’s.The leather unit even received a gold medal  in 1978 for the quality of leather produced.Famous by the name of ‘small tannery’ in Indian and abroad, the Pandaul leather factory was closed in 1992-93.
