Nitin Chandra’s , Mithila Makhan bagged the 63rd National Film Awards for the best Maithili Film.
Recently the film got the honour of opening ‘Bihar: Ek Virasat Kala & Film Mahotsav 2016.Adding another feather to its success recently it also became the first ever Maithili Film to go to International Film Festival of South Asia, Toronto
The film got huge accolades since its first teaser trailer was released a couple of months ago.The film has been extensively shot in USA , Canada, India and Nepal.The film which shows the potentials of turning the tide against stagnant Maithili films growth is also getting eye balls and expectations due to its script, cast ,budget and cinematography.
The film has a backdrop of Kusaha embankment breach which swept away Kosi region.The young and energetic protagonist fight with the callous system trying to bring back normalcy in his village.Kranti Prakash Jha and Anurita Jha are the main leads of this film while noted film actor Pankaj Jha plays the villain ‘Brahma Singh’.The famous bollywood actress Neetu Chandra is the producer of this film.
