Government of Bihar will open five new medical colleges in the state .Medical college will be opened at Madhubani ,Sitamadhi ,Mahua ( Vaishali) , Begusarai and Ara. These five medical colleges will come in to existence by 2020.The Health department has ordered for opening medical colleges at these places recently.
Now DM of that district’s will acquire 20 acres of land . If it fails to get public land then the land will be taken on lease.For the time being , the government has set an amount of RS 400 Crores for each medical college .According to requirement this amount may even be increased .Chief Minister , Nitish Kumar , had announced for 5 new medical colleges in the state under seven “Avsar Badhe Aage Padhe” for a developed Bihar The place for these colleges were being searched since the last six years.Under Central Government plan there should be a medical college over the population of 50 lakhs.
It has also been possible due to the relaxation on the standard of college campus by Medical Council Of India.Earlier , it was compulsory to open medical college in an area not less than 25 acres.According to earlier standard of MCI the maximum distance between two campuses was 10KM.The restriction on opening of two campuses within an area of 20 acres has also been lifted by MCI
After these new modifications in the rules , the state government , started the working in the direction of constructing new buildings for medical colleges on the basis of Sadar hospitals .
