Maithili novel ‘Uchaat’ wins Sahitya Akademy Award

Sahitya Academi Award to Dr Asha Mishra for mathili

Dr Asha Mishra of Darbhanga has been awarded with Sahitya Akademy Award for her Maithili novel ‘Uchaat’.The novel is about psychology of the teenagers.Through the novel Dr Mishra tries to explain the state of mind of the children in their teens and what they go through at this age.

The Sahitya Akademy Awardee for Maithili language has thanked her family and kids for their unconditional support and dedicated this award to them.

Sahiya Academi award is a higly prestigeous award given in literature by the government of India.It was established in 1954 for promoting Indian literarture throughout the world and is awarded in 24 indian languages.The award carries a plaque and a cash prize of Rs. 100,000.
