Renowned Maithili poet ‘Chandra Bhanu Singh’ passes away

The famous poet of Maithili , Chandrabhanu Singh passed away.The residents of Mithilanchal drowned in a wave of sorrow hearing this tragic news . The people from literary and intellectual circle were heartbroken by hearing this news .The poet was among Sahitya Akademi Award winners for Maithili language.He got the award for creation Shakuntala , the Epic in Maithili.

The poet hailed from Nadiami village and was bed ridden since last couple of years.The 94 years old poet of Maithili language was born on March 1 ,1922.He has written 5000 compositions in Hindi and Maithili language.His popular creations include Swadesh Bharati , Swar Bharati,Sapt Maharathi,Bajrang Pachisa,Ratra Bharati Shatak,Ramayan in Maithili etc.

Dr.Bina Thakur ,a  representative of Maithili in Sahitya Academy said , a pillar of Maithili literature has been lost .’The poet’s role in the field of freedom struggle , teaching and literature creating will remain memorable forever ‘she added .

Intellectuals from Mithila remembering , Mr Singh, said that the literary contribution of late Singh will remain memorable forever. His compositions will Maithili literature proud and treasure to be conserve.

Phool Chandra Jha Pravin said , it was the loss of a bright star of Maithili literature is possible to compensate .

Condolence meeting were held in Mithila by Vidyapati Seva Sansthan in Darbhanga..Tributes were paid to the poet in the condolence meeting . Kamala Kant Jha , Dr. Sri Shankar Jha , Dr. Vishnudev Jha Bikal including many people were present on this occasion .
