Bihar Intermediate will not have ISc,IA and ICom sort of nomenclature from 2018 but only Intermediate

Bihar Board has made a significant modified in course of Intermediate.Now choice based system will be implemented in Intermediate course.Under this , the students of Bihar Board will be able to select subject of their like similar to CBSE and ICSE boards.The students will hence get ‘Intermediate’ certificate instead of existing Intermediate-Science , Intermediate-Arts and Intermediate-Commerce nomenclature.

As a result  , compulsion of Arts , Science and Commerce has been abolished such that students can now take any three subjects as in main subjects from Arts  , Science and Commerce faculty .The students of Science subject will be able to read the subject of Arts and Commerce .

Similarly the students of Commerce can also take three subjects of Arts and Science in Intermediate as in main subjects .This new system was approved in the meeting of governing body which was conducted by council on Saturday and this proposal has been sent to the government .After approval from the government , new Intermediate system will be implemented from 2018 .

IAS Anand Kishore , president of Bihar Board told , ‘the students can select three subjects as in main subject with their own choice in Intermediate .It is for students to make combination of the subjects which is right for their career ,

If any students have to go in engineering then he needs to select the subject of Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics . Similarly , the students who need do medical then he/she need to makecombination of Physics , Chemistry and Biology .The students aspiring to make career in MBA need to select the subjects related to commerce .The students need to select 3 subjects out of a pool of main subjects like – Math , Physics , Chemistry , Biology , Computer Science , History , Political Science , Geography , Economics , Sociology , Psychology , Philosophy , Home Science , Music , Business studies , Accountancy , Entrepreneurship , Multimedia and Web technology , Yoga and Physical education .

Similarly 2 subjects of language will be required to be selected in new Bihar Intermediate syllabus from a pool of subjects like – Hindi , Urdu , English , Sanskrit , Bengali ,  Maithili , Magahi , Arabic , Farsi , Bhojpuri , Pal and Procrit .
