The traffic condition of Darbhanga is deteriorating and authorities are planning to introduce some new traffic rules to put a check on the chaotic traffic situation of the city.Under the proposed new rule the auto-rickshaws will need to display a fare chart and route permit on their vehicles. The auto rickshaws will only be allowed to drive within a radius of 16 kms under this provision.
Currently , autos in the city are operating without any time table , route or fare chart. If the new rule comes into force , the auto owners will be required to get a route permit whose monitoring will be done at regular intervals.According to the draft there is a provision to slap fines in case of violation of these rules.
The department has drafted this new system and is expected to be placed in the forthcoming meeting of the Regional Transport Authority. According to the sources , new traffic arrangements might receive an approval in the meeting.
Heavy Vehicles allowed on till Ekmi Ghat only from Samastipur side
