Government of India floats Darbhanga Airport Terminal construction bid

As you might be aware that Darbhanga Airport is undergoing through a construction for commercial activity and flights from Darbhanga is going to start soon.

In this reference , Indian Airports Authority had recently invited e-tenders to construct an interim terminal buildings at Civil Enclave of Darbhanga Airport.

According to the notification issued for this , construction of interim terminal is to be done from the amount of Rs.8.93 Crores.Construction work has to be completed in three months.

By inviting e-tender , it has become fully clear that flight services will soon be made available to people of Darbhanga .

An interim terminal is a building at an airport where passengers are able to get on and off aircraft. Inside the terminal, passengers can buy tickets, leave or pick up their luggage, and be checked by security staff.

Airport to be operational in 6 months

A team by Government of India has made several visits to the under-construction airport.Mr Sushil Modi , Deputy Chief Minister of the state has also reiterated that take-off will start from Darbhanga in six months.

The start of the commercial flights ,is expected to benefit students studying outside the state.The city will be easily accessible to doctors and businessmen with opening of air route.

People will be able to fly directly to  Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai from here.A need for starting the air-services from Darbhanga was felt since a long time.

Earlier attempts to start chartered air services by small aviation operators could not meet considerable success.People are eagerly awaiting the start of a full fledged air service from Darbhanga.
