Government Plans Piped drinking water in villages of Bihar

Under the Mukhyamantri Grameen Peyjal Nichaye Yojana, now the people of the villages in Bihar will be able to receive piped drinking water! And they will need to pay an amount of just Rs30 for this service.

The administration will employ the Ward Implementation and Management Committee to recover the quarterly charge. The state cabinet under the Chief Minister had recently approved this proposal of Panchayati Raj Department. According to this plan the state government will collect the rental every three months.

Sanjay Kumar, the chief secretary of cabinet secretariat told that broadly an amount of Rs 30 per month will be charged from every family under this plan. Under special circumstances, the water connection to an extremely poor family may be provided, free of cost.

A month notice will be given to the family for not depositing the rental consecutively for three months. In case of non-payment even after 3 reminders, the connection will be stopped.
