Now Kosi’s Makhana will be exported to USA, Canada, England and United Arab Emirates.

Government is making every possible effort to promote Makhana cultivation in the water-logged areas of Kosi.

The construction of the Makhana corridor work is being done to the the banks of the embankment till Koparia. For this, a team of scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Agriculture Science Center), Raghopur and Bhopasha Agricultural College Purnia are conducting a survey work.

It is hard work to pull out raw Makhana from the water.Preparing lava from raw makhana is also very difficult.Given this, the government has decided to install a Makhana processing plant in Saraigarh.

Most farmers sell raw Makhana only due to the problem of lava extraction.Due to this,  the traders take the profits. After planting the lava plant, the profits of farmers will increase and farmers will get five times the cost of Makhana exports.

The foreign currency will also be earned.
