Maoists Infiltration in Valmiki Tiger Reserve

Around 7-8 dozen Maoists insurgents laced with latest weapons have been said to be sighted in the forest of Valmiki Tigers Reserve (VTR) . The women’s squad of Maoists was also spotted.The presence of insurgents has created a panic among the forest personnel’s.

Mr. S Chandrashekhar , patron cum regional director of VTR has written an SOS letter to the all officials including DIG Anil Kumar Singh , DM Dr.Nilesh Ramchandra Devare ,  SP Jayant Kant. Last days , Maoists had also thrashed a tiger tracker staff in the reserve.

Regional director has said in the letter that 80 to 90 Maoists are hiding in the forest of VTR.Due to which, there has been a threat to the safety of forest officials and personnel.To avoid this, he has demanded to start a search operation in the forest.Along with this , there is also danger to the wildlife.

Lets not forget that due to being adjacent to the Indo-Nepal border, criminal activities , illegal hunting is also increasing in the  jungle of VTR.

The Maoists had blasted a government building in 2006.
