Sakri-Jhanjharpur Broad Guage Rail Section may open by the end of this year


The work of broad Gauge conversion has recently been completed between Sakri and Mandan Misha halt in Sakri- Nirmali rail line.
Apart frm the Sakri-Mandan Mishra halt (11km)
gauge conversion is also completed for Mandan Mishra-Jhanjharpur (9km), Saharsa-Garbruari (16km) and Garbruari-Saraiganj (35km). This important route is a part Sakri-Jhanjharpur-Loukabazar-Saharsa-Forbesganj gauge conversion work by East Central Railway. Also note, the Rs 14,75 CR railway project covers a distance of 206 KM.

The news the Indian Railways has brought cheers to the face of a large number of people who feel more comfortable journey by a train. The CRS, Md. Latif Khan inspected the track by the trolley on Sunday in view of launching the rail broad-gauge service.

The rail official returned to Sakri from Mandan Mishra Halt with all the officials through a Special Observation Rail Coach. The train was tested with a speed of 105 kmph. CRS told that the minor works are pending which will soon be take care of. He will submit his report soon to the Railway Department.

He also said if everything is okay then DMU train will start operating till  Mandan Mishra Halt within a week and the trains will start operating till Jhanjharpur by the end of the year.

CRS arrived Sakri station in the morning at 8 AM. He reviewed the files in the coach only with his subordinate. Then he reached the panel room and he took the information from the station superintendent and station master about the trains running on different routes and the speed of the trains. After the investigation the station at 9.30 AM, he departed for Mandan Mishra Halt with  RK Jain, DRM and other officials by the trolley.
