The district administration in Darbhanga recently took several decisions to improve the traffic system in the city.
In this context, Dr. Chandrasekhar Singh the DM of the district had meetings with the officials and representatives of various organizations.
In the meeting, various proposals on the traffic system were discussed. Considering the vast expansion of the city in the upcoming days, it requires a proper arrangement of the traffic.
It was decided that it is necessary to construct a railway overbridge near Chatti chowk, Gumti No 23 and near from Kangwa Gumti to Chunabhatti Gumti No 27. For this, it was decided to send the proposal to the government.
Apart from this, 7 flyovers were identified as necessary for the increasing traffic of the city. In this regard, the Executive Engineer of PWD has been asked to provide a technical proposal within a week, so that it can be sent to the government.
The proposal for construction of 5 rail overbridges has already consented.
It has been said that there has been a consensus between the Railways and the Government of Bihar to construct rail overbridges at the following five places.
1. Railway crossing No 25 near Donar,
2. Railway crossing No 26 near the museum,
3. Railway crossing No 21 near Panda Sarai,
4. Special crossing No 2 between Darbhanga and Muhammadpur and
5. Railway crossing No 28 between Bela and Delhi more Gumti.
Construction of Flyovers
A double lane flyover lane will be made from Naka No 6 to Karpuri Chowk to promote smooth traffic movement.
The Flyovers is also proposed for these sections –
Benta Chowk, Naka No 5, from Paras Hospital (at Allpati) to Hero Honda Agency, Old Bus stand ( Kadirabad ) to Pili Mashjid (to Azamnagar), from Malechchh Mardini Temple ( Mirzapur) to Tasty Sweet Corner and from Lohia Chowk to Rajendra Prasad chowk.
The long-distance vehicles will pass through the city via these flyovers and local vehicles can commute from below the flyover. These flyovers will be extended to double lane from Naka No 6 to Karupuri Chowk.
