LNMU campus begins to shine with solar lights from Saturday.VC of the University , Professor SK Singh , inaugurated it by cutting the ribbon.
With the Rs 30 lakhs grant provided by UGC around 100 lamps have been installed across the entire campus.
A total of 80 lamps have been fitted between Chaurangi till Nargouna Palace campus.The Lights have been installed at 62 places in Nargonona Palace premises.Similarly, 18 Lights are installed at Chowringhee in front of the University headquarter, the women hostel and around the Gandhi Sadan .
To ensure saving of electricity 18 watts and 50 watts LED bulbs were fitted.
Sohan Chaudhary , engineer of LNMU told that remaining 20 lights will also have been installed soon.
There is a plan to install solar panels on the buildings.
