Flood destroys acres of crops ,affects many villages in Darbhanga

Every year flood destroys the crops and disrupts the activities of the villages

A number of villages of the district have bee transformed into islands due to increased water level in the Kamla Balan .The water has come on the road and boats are the only one means of transportation.The the maize crop cultivation, seasonable vegetable , banana and paddy farming has been ruined in hundred of acres . Baur of Ghanshyampur , Navtoliya , Deegha , Ijrahi , Baidynathpur , Kanki , Mushari , Kaithahi , Rasiyari etc villages are surrounded by the floods .The water is flowing from two feet to three feet’s on the Baur-Ghanshyampur REO  road.The study in the school is stalled due to enter the water into the class rooms .The flooded water has began to spread in the villages of Kiratpur from the sluice gate which is near by Rasiyari .The authorities closed the gate immediately after the complaint of the villagers .The police patrolling has been increased on the embankment.

Many villages in the east block of Kusheshwarsthan have been surrounded by the floods. The people of Chokiya and Lachhminiya villages of  Itahar panchayat could not get a chance to think as the villages were surrounded by the water in just two or three hours .The villagers informed to the local administration , Then local administration made available three boats to the mukhiya for evacuating people from the flood prone areas.

The reason for increased level of water in Kamla river is due to heavy rainfall in easten region of Nepal which is causing landslides and flooding the river.
